The Sorghum Festival
2nd & 3rd Weekends in October
Taking place over two weekends in October, The Sorghum Festival is Union County's longest running festival! This year is the 53rd anniversary of the Sorghum Festival.
Held the 2nd and 3rd weekends in October, with a big parade the first weekend on Saturday, October 14th. The festival features demonstrations, sorghum making, contests, crafts, music and more!

Taking place every Friday evening June thru October, and a seasonal show in December, these concerts feature regional musicians that showcase our mountain heritage.
These free concerts are hosted by the Union County Historical Society and are held in the Old Courthouse on the Square.
Friday night concerts begin at 7pm, doors open at 6pm. We recommend you get there early to make sure you get a seat!
